Diatomite Chemical Activation for Effective Adsorption of Methylene Blue Dye from Model Textile Wastewater

نویسندگان

چکیده

Dye wastewater produced in textile industries is a warning issue that threatens the environment due to discharge into waterway. This study reviewed adsorption of Methylene Blue (MB), as toxic dye, onto diatomite adsorbent. A series chemical modifications were examined by impregnating various acidic and basic solutions obtain most active sample with highest capacity. Both raw (RD) modified (MD) analyzed under different experimental conditions, such PH, contact time, dose adsorbent attain optimum quantities each which capacity removal percentage their amount. FESEM analysis indicated surface characterization morphology both adsorbents. The results batch experiments showed equilibration capacities MB condition 72 mg/g for RD 127 MD. Overall suggested low-cost, naturally available, simple treatment methods materials, sustainability, has potential dye practical process.

Electrochemical Degradation of Reactive Blue 19 Dye in Textile Wastewater

Textile wastewater is notoriously known to contain strong colour, a highly fluctuating pH and significant COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) values. Because of these characteristics, treatment of these effluents has been rather difficult. Traditional methods for dealing with textile wastewater consist of various combinations of biological, physical and chemical methods. Because of the large variabili...
